Content:
The content that my lesson will be based on is the Utah standard for 6th grade social studies. It is standard 4, which states that students will understand current global issues and their rights and responsibilities in the interconnected world. Objective 1, Analyze how major world events of the 20th century affect the world today. However I would be focusing on indicator 1, which says, Identify key events, ideas, and leaders of the 20th century (e.g. World War I, World War II, the Cold War, the Korean and Vietnamese conflicts, dynamic Asian economies). This Google tour will take students to 4 major battles of WW II letting them see the landscape and the terrrain. Students will also have the opportunity to complete different activities at each battle location.

Pedagogy:
This Google tour will be especially a wondeful lesson activity for those that are visual learners. They will be able to actually see the places that we talked about and be able to gain more information about each site. Not only will they visually be able to see the sites there will be activities that the students will need to complete at each site. These activities will keep the students involved, and allow them to make connections.

Technology:
The technology used to create this virtual tour is Google Earth. Students will use computers to view each location with Google Earth, access websites on the internet. Google Earth is a perfect fit for teaching about battles from WWII because students will be able to see the sites without leaving the classroom.
