Digital Storybook

The content I will use in my digital storybook lesson is based on the Utah Core Curriculum Standard 1, Objective 2 which states that students will "develop language through viewing media and presenting". The story I will present is called Where's My Bone?. It is a song and singing activity that I turned into a storybook. This story would be good for younger grade levels because of the simple text and repeating lines.

The pedagogy I am using is to help students use different media. This will allow students to experience new things. Students can eaisly see this story and since we live in the technology age if they wanted they could create their own digital storybook either as a class, in small groups or individually. It is also good because they learn about working together and responsibility.

The technology that I will use is creating a digital storybook, because this is digital I will have to use technology on many levels. I will have to take picture of the story pages, record me reading the story and then combining both aspects of picture and sound. This works really well for teaching about language because when reading stories you focus on language and this is just a fun, interactive and a very new age way to do it.

  1. Wow Stefanie! This looks like it will be especially enjoyable for the students to do! I am sure they will get some humor out of the story you are telling!
